Such an honour to write this story on Dr Tonia Cochran of @inala_jurassic_garden for @australiangeographic magazine this month. Her desire to showcase the Gondwanan connection through plants from different parts of the world led to her #jurassicgarden on @tasmania Bruny Island. It now has 700 species from 50 plant families and the garden is contributing to the Global Genome Initiative for Gardens. The Wollemi pines has both male and female cones. I’m sure you can guess which is which! This beauty was photographed at @inala_jurassic_garden on Bruny Island in Tasmania. This incredible garden was established to show how species with common ancestors on Gondwana have evolved on different landmasses. Entry to the garden and adjoining nature museum is only $10 for adults and $5 for children. A fun way to teach the kids about natural history. #backtonatureau #brunyisland #jurassicgarden @tasmania
